Delivered by a skilled crane instructor and Rigger Certifier, the Level 1 Rigger Certification Course seamlessly blends classroom instruction with hands-on practice.

Participants receive comprehensive theoretical learning and practical training, encompassing tasks such as load weight calculations, determination of load center of gravity, rigging load procedures, and coordinating crane lifts by providing guidance to crane operators.

The primary objective of the Level 1 training program is to prepare individuals for a secure career as proficient and self-assured riggers.

The curriculum entails a diverse range of subjects, including:

    • Crane and hoisting hand signals
    • Estimation of load weights
    • Identification of load center of gravity (COG)
    • Appropriate applications of rigging hardware
    • Inspection criteria for rigging hardware (jurisdiction-specific regulations apply)
    • Utilization of rigging tables for selecting suitable hoisting hardware
    • Calculation of sling angle capacity
    • Proper care and storage of rigging hardware
    • Safety protocols and hazards related to cranes and overhead hoists
    • Lift planning and advanced topics awareness

The instructor, who is a Rigger Certifier, conducts the assessment. Upon completion of Level 1 Rigger certification, you will receive a Fulford Cranesafe picture ID wallet card, valid for 5 years.
